Proverbs 15:28 (KJV)
“The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.”
The righteous do not react—they reflect. Godly speech begins in the heart before it ever reaches the mouth or the keyboard. Wisdom pauses, weighs, and considers whether words honor the Lord. Rash speech reveals more than opinions; it reveals the heart.
S — Scriptural
Isaiah 8:20 (KJV)
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
God’s Word is the measuring line for every message. Speech that departs from Scripture, no matter how confident or compelling, lacks true light. Truth is not shaped by culture or emotion. Scripture remains the final authority.
U — Usable
Nehemiah 8:8 (KJV)
“So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.”
God intends His Word to be understood by His people. Scripture was read clearly and explained plainly so the hearers could grasp its meaning. Clarity is not compromise; it is faithfulness. What cannot be understood cannot be lived.
R — Reassuring
Titus 3:9 (KJV)
“But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.”
Not every question strengthens faith. Some conversations unsettle hearts and distract from settled truth. God reassures His people by calling them away from unprofitable controversy. Confidence grows where truth is trusted, not endlessly agitated.
E — Edifying
Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
Words are meant to build, not corrode. Godly speech strengthens others and delivers grace. Communication that tears down fails its purpose. What we say—and post—should leave others stronger in faith.
